HOW IT WORKS
Technologies from the various partners are already available on IP, so vendors do not have to wait. There is limitless scalability.
All IP technologies require security and IP-BLiS is aligning security requirements for the industry and not reinventing them.
Harmonization of access to an IP network with connected building automation products allows for better, quicker and less costly integration.
No additional training required with an IP based solution
Leverages existing infrastructures; reduces resource investment
Cost efficient; lowers maintenance requirements
Reduces security breach risk
Eliminates need for additional dedicated hardware via over-the-air updates
Flexibility based on specified building requirements
Ease of maintenance with a subset of products that need replacement
Enables large scale installation of connected products
Mass connectivity; better control
Attractive to stakeholders (system integrators, facility managers, IT admins)
Faster network setup with one cable system to configure and debug
Less training required for technicians and controls programmers
Lower tool costs; all subsystems utilize common network layer tools
Broad availability of low cost tools and training
Easy transition of teams
WHO WE ARE
We are not a new organization but rather existing organizations working together. The members of IP-BLiS intend to align on a common network on-boarding and shared secure network communication procedures to be applied in administrated IP based networks for building control and management systems. These common procedures ensure uniform integration of different control systems in a shared administrated IP based network and reduce the network administration effort serving different systems.
To make commercial buildings more responsive to the needs of users by promoting a secure, multi-standard, IP-based harmonized IoT solution. Harmonization of access to an IP network with connected building automation products allowing for better integration.
The IP-BLiS liaison parties, through collaboration and cooperation, will educate and influence the market regarding application framework standards over IP for commercial building connectivity through marketing and communications.
